Bananas can be eaten raw, but for the most part, they are cooked using one of three methods: frying, boiling, grilling, or grinding into flour or dough.
Grilled cinnamon honey bananas (grilling)
Ingredients; olive oil, honey cinnamon mixture
Instructions:
- Put the melted butter, honey, and cinnamon in a bowl and stir. Peel and cut a fresh banana in half lengthwise. Use fresh bananas to ensure a clean cut through the skin, as those that are beginning to turn brown will be too soft to cut.
- To reduce the likelihood of sticking, lightly coat the cut side of the bananas with olive oil. Place the cut side down on a 350 degree preheated grill and cook for approximately three minutes.
- Turn the bananas over so the peel side is down and brush with the honey-cinnamon mixture. Continue grilling for an additional three minutes. Several preferred serving ideas include serving grilled bananas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which involves placing the bananas in a bowl, dollop of vanilla ice cream, and top with fresh blue berries.

Baked Banana Chips (frying)
These baked banana chips are the solution if you’re wondering what to do with the overripe bananas sitting on your counter! Because they’re baked, this delicious sweet-salty snack is much healthier than regular chips. They are a great after-school snack or lunchbox addition.
Ingredients: bananas and lemon juice.
Instructions:
- Cut your bananas as thinly as you can, then transfer them to a bowl. You can use a mandolin to ensure that all of your banana slices are uniform if your bananas are sufficiently firm. Pour water over the bananas and squeeze in the lemon. To ensure that every banana is exposed to the lemon juice mixture, gently stir the bananas. Give them a few minutes to sit.
- Remove the banana slices from the bowl with a gentle spoon, then transfer them to a paper towel to absorb any remaining water. Place the banana slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they don’t touch. Reduce the oven’s temperature to the lowest setting possible. The bananas must be baked for five hours. After that time, take them out and turn them over to crisp the underside.
- Return the tray to the warm oven, shut it off, and leave them there for the entire night. Your banana chips
